RESPITE SERVICE Independent Users: ticket holders who have mild learning disabilities and require no on-site supervision can attend independently subject to advance completion of a respite disclaimer form. This needs to be completed and signed by a parent or keyworker on the day if dropping off or before the date of the event if travelling independently, without a carer, and returned to us by email. To obtain a form, please e-mail us at [email protected]. We will confirm by-email once we have received the form and that we are expecting you. Volunteer Support: ticket holders who have mild/moderate learning disabilities requiring minimal on-site supervision, can attend with the support of one of our volunteers, subject to advance completion of a respite disclaimer form . This needs to be completed and returned to us by e-mail before the date of the event so that we can allocate a volunteer (subject to availability). We will confirm by-email once we have received the form and that we are expecting you. SUMMER FILM THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY: HOMEWARD BOUND – 6th AUGUST 2018

Monday 6th August 2018, 9.45am – 11.30am, at the Olympic Cinema, Church Road, London SW13 9HL.

All ages and disabilities welcome. Homeward Bound tells the story of the incredible journey of three pets, two dogs and a cat, who make their way home to their owners after escaping, with lots of fun adventures on the way. 1 free carer ticket to 1 standard ticket booking. All our films are shown as Sensory Screenings (Relaxed performances)  –  no adverts, the lights are on, dimmed throughout, the sound increases gradually at the very start of the movie, lights come on gradually at the end, ticket holders can move around if required etc.

SUMMER WALKS IN RICHMOND PARK  –  13th & 20th AUGUST 2018  

MONDAYS 13TH AUGUST AND 20TH AUGUST, SUMMER WALKS IN RICHMOND PARK 10.30 – 12.00. Walks are FREE.

Meeting Point: Roehampton Gate Car Park – turn first right as you enter the car park and head down to the end –  look out for our Activity Station sail flags where we will be waiting to meet you. Meet time from 10:15am.

Get out in the fresh air and hopefully summer sunshine for a friendly accessible walk. We walk along the path to Robin Hood Gate , back along the track next to Beverley Brook returning to Roehampton Gate car park. Afterwards, meet in the cafe for a chat, drink and/or snack. Toilets are available at both Roehampton Gate and Robin Hood Gate. Note that the route may vary from day to day. Whenever possible, the pace and length of the walks are adjusted to meet the needs of the group each time and for new people joining. All ages and disabilities welcome. Just turn up – no need to book.

SUMMER ACTIVITY DAY OUT – HIGH ASHURST OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CENTRE,  TUESDAY 14TH AUGUST 2018

TUESDAY 14TH AUGUST 2018. 10.00am – 4.00pm. Activity Day Out by minibus to High Ashurst Outdoor Adventure Centre in the Surrey Hills.  All disabilities welcome. Ages 11+.
High Ashurst is an outdoor activity education centre in an area of outstanding natural beauty and sits in 56 acres of woodland. We have arranged a morning and an afternoon session of adventurous inclusive and adapted activities which may include climbing and abseiling (both with hoist as required), orienteering, team games and off road wheelchair trails. The instructors have extensive experience of working with learning disabilities from mild to severe/complex needs and make each activity fun for everyone. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink on the day. Our groups are small to ensure everyone has plenty of time to enjoy the activities and you can do as little or as much as you want. Carers are encouraged to join in too!

SUMMER ACTIVITY DAY OUT – TOUR OF HYDE PARK WITH LIBERTY DRIVES

WEDNESDAY 15TH AUGUST 2018, 10.30am – 3.00pm.
Come and have a tour on these fun, accessible electric buggies with Liberty Drives which we have booked exclusively for Activity Station.  Glide along around the 780 acres of Hyde Park and hear about the history of Kensington Palace and Gardens. The ride is approximately 1 hour but can be adapted to the needs of the group on each buggy –  Liberty Drives are very experienced with people with disabilities and are very flexible. After the ride we will relax for a picnic lunch by the Serpentine, and if time, enjoy a walk, boating or just chill and enjoy watching the world go by! Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink on the day. (Please note that if it is raining heavily on the day, we will not be able to go – we will advise you first thing, by email or telephone, if we have to cancel and will refund your ticket if this happens).

SUMMER ACTIVITY DAY OUT – THAMES ROCKETS SPEEDBOAT RIDE, THURSDAY 16tTH AUGUST 2018

THURSDAY 16TH AUGUST 2018, 9.45am – 3.00pm.
We have booked London’s No. 1 outdoor activity! Thames Rockets are the original speedboat sightseeing cruise on the river Thames where you can see and hear about all the famous London sights for the ultimate London Adventure. We have chartered our own boat for exclusive use by Activity Station for a 50 minute ride including a high speed tour around the docklands, which the skipper and crew can adapt and change to suit the needs of those in our group. We board the boat at the pier next to the London Eye after we get kitted up following a safety briefing.
After the ride we will relax in Jubilee Gardens (or shelter nearby if it is raining) for lunch by the riverside, and if time, enjoy a walk to take in the sights and sounds of the South Bank. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink on the day. Our groups are small to ensure everyone has plenty of time to enjoy the activities and places are limited.

All people with disabilities must be accompanied unless using one of our respite services. This activity is for ages 11+ but is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with severe mobility issues for safety reasons.

SUMMER ACTIVITY DAY OUT – RIVER THAMES CRUISE,  TUESDAY 21ST AUGUST 2018

TUESDAY 21ST AUGUST 2018, 9.15am – 5.00pm.
Come along for a gentle cruise on board this specially adapted boat with the River Thames Boat Project. We meet the boat in Kingston and cruise along the Thames stopping at various points of interest along the way until we reach Sunbury where we will have lunch before returning back to Kingston again. The skipper makes the trip enjoyable for everyone in our group and you can join in as much or as little as you want! This activity is suitable for wheelchair users and for all disabilities. Ages 11+.
Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink on the day. Our groups are small to ensure everyone has plenty of time to enjoy the activities and places are limited.

SUMMER SPORTS AND GAMES, WEDNESDAY 22ND AUGUST 2018

WEDNESDAY 22ND AUGUST 2018, 10.30AM – 4.30PM
Liz Foster Sport are back again this summer with a fun filled day of sports and games at Barn Elms Sports Trust. Come and try a range of inclusive and accessible activities from a selection of tri-golf, cricket, football, rounders, boccia and team games to name a few. You can make the session as active or as gentle as you like as Liz and her team adapt the games to suit all abilities. It’s a great day out in the fresh air and a chance to meet others. We have exclusive use of the on-site community room for lunch (please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink), chill zone and the summer weather! Also exclusive use of the disabled toilets and a changing room too if required. There are 2 sessions on the day, morning 10.30am – 1.00pm and afternoon 2.00pm – 4.30pm or come along for the day.

Tickets for each session are £10 per person (or £15 for the whole day). For ages 11+. Carers are free. All people with disabilities must be accompanied unless using one of our respite services.
